FAQs
Registration & Tickets
Registration is completed online via the Pretix ticketing system. After successful registration, a confirmation email will be sent. The final tickets will be issued one week before the event, following verification that all examination requirements and the final thesis have been successfully completed.

Up to four guests may be registered per graduate.
Due to limited seating capacity, a maximum of four guests can usually be registered.
Participation Requirements
Students are eligible to participate if all examinations and the final thesis have been officially recorded as passed by the examination office no later than approximately two weeks before the event. A provisional “4.0 certificate” issued by the examiners is considered sufficient. Final verification will take place before the tickets are sent out.
No. The certificate presentation and name announcement are reserved exclusively for graduates holding a valid graduate ticket. Guests do not receive a certificate during the ceremony and are seated in the designated guest seating area.
Graduates who were unable to obtain a graduate ticket may register for the graduation ceremony in the next semester.

All graduates are kindly requested to remain at the event at least until the end of the closing speech in order to preserve the ceremonial atmosphere together.
Gowns and doctoral hats
Academic clothing can be ordered independently through our partner Robe Academicus using the code fauwiso. The link to the ordering platform can be found on the General Information page. The order must be placed til June 19, 2026.
Gowns and doctoral hats must be returned on the day of the event. After the ceremony, academic clothing should be placed in a sealable plastic bag together with a sheet of paper stating the name and returned to room 0.224.
In this case, contacting the customer service of Robe Academicus directly is recommended.
Yes. There is no obligation to rent or purchase gowns and doctoral hats through the partner provider. Personal academic clothing may of course be worn.
Travel & Stay
No parking spaces are available directly at the venue for external guests. Public parking facilities are available nearby. Due to limited parking capacity, travelling by public transportation is recommended.
A get-together will take place after the ceremony, during which complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered.
No cloakroom service will be provided. Liability for valuables cannot be assumed.
Children are welcome to attend. If a separate seat is required, an additional ticket should also be booked. Seating is suitable for children aged six and above.

No, graduation documents do not need to be brought to the event.
No, graduation documents will be issued independently of the graduation ceremony by the examination office.
Due to organizational reasons, the graduation ceremony is conducted in German. However, the presentation slides will be provided bilingually.
No, participation in the graduation ceremony is free of charge. The event is made possible through sponsorship and the support of various partners.
Graduation ceremonies generally take place in early July and early December.
