To ensure the smooth running of the graduation ceremony, all important organizational information regarding the event is summarized below. This includes information on registration, admission, academic clothing, as well as other relevant details for graduates and their accompanying guests. It is recommended to read the information carefully before the event in order to be well prepared for the day of the ceremony. The event will be held in German.
Registration Information
Prior registration is required to participate. As demand is usually very high, it is recommended to register quickly. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
In order to participate in the ceremony, all examinations and the final thesis must be graded as passed at least 10 days before the event. This will be verified by the examination office.
Due to room capacities, only a limited number of participants will be admitted to the ceremony. As soon as all the tickets are sold, no more tickets can be purchased.
Gowns and doctoral hats
A gown makes graduates particularly stand out. For this purpose, gowns (sash included) and doctoral hats (both Master’s and Bachelor’s) can be borrowed for a fee or purchased if desired.
Orders for gowns and caps must be placed no later than June 19, 2026. When placing the order, the code “fauwiso” must be provided.
Gowns and doctoral hats must be returned on the day of the event. After the ceremony, academic clothing should be placed in a sealable plastic bag together with a sheet of paper stating the name and returned to room 0.224.
Final documents
No original graduation documents will be issued at the event. The Examination Office will send these to you after successful completion.
Photos
A photographer will take photos during the event, which can then be downloaded free of charge from this website. By taking part in the event, participants declare their consent to the creation of images of themselves as part of the event and to the publication of the images by FAU/WiSo (social media, press, printed products).
